How do I Configure the Network Settings for Windows 95/98?

Configuring Network Settings for Windows 95/98.
  1. Double click on the My Computer icon.
  2. Double click on the Control Panel icon.
  3. Double click Network in the Control Panel.
  4. Verify that you have the following components installed and then double click the TCP/IP (Dial-up Adapter).
    1. Microsoft Family Logon or Client for Microsoft Networks
    2. Dial up adapter
    3. TCP/IP
    You can have either the Client for Microsoft Networks or the Microsoft Family Logon installed.
  5. Click OK if the TCP/IP Properties Message Box pops up.
  6. Make sure that the "IP address is obtained automatically" is checked.
  7. Left click once on the Gateway tab.
  8. Make sure there are no installed gateways.
  9. Left click once on the DNS Configuration Tab.
  10. Make sure the Enable DNS is selected.
  11. Remove all previous information in the DNS configuration if needed.
  12. Enter the following information:
    1. Host: Your StratusWave user name
    2. Domain:
    3. DNS Number: then click ADD then click ADD
    4. Domain Suffix: then Click ADD
    Click OK on the TCP/IP Properties box.
    Click OK on the Network window.
  13. Restart Computer.
